Stress and anxiety are nothing new. For years Americans have been ranked as experiencing some of the highest levels of stress in the world.
One of the biggest instigators of stress and anxiety is the unknown. If we had a crystal ball and knew exactly what would happen, when it would happen, and how it would happen, we would be more likely to adapt to what was headed our way.
Unfortunately, we don't have a crystal ball into the future, so we are all left to manage the unknown.
The days of COVID-19 have been full of the unknown. One of the most common phrases right now is, "in these times of uncertainty." Uncertainty and the unknown are tough. They are especially tough on our well-being.
The Georgia Health News recently published an article about Living with Anxiety Amit Fallout From the Pandemic. The article highlights that people with a history of anxiety, as well as those who have never before experienced debilitating levels of anxiety, are now facing increased worry and stress from not only the fear of COVID-19 itself, but also from all the affects of weeks in quarantine.
More than ever, it is helpful to identify your stress and establish a self-care routine.
